An Act amending Section 1.401 "Police and Fire Pension Plan" of the Howard County
Code in order to provide that disability payments, made pursuant to the approved
Pension Plan, are to be considered in the nature of worker's compensation payments and,
therefore, not taxable income to the employee; to add the new class of Fire Captain to the
list of employees eligible to become members of the Plan; to delete material which is no
longer relevant; and to update language to reflect the establishment of the Police and
Fire Employees Pension Plan.
