AN ORDINANCE concerning:

Retirement Plan for Appointed and Elected Officials

FOR the purpose of amending certain definitions to require that certain plan participants
have a minimum amount of County service after a certain date and that service the
definition of "service" to provide that employment with the County need not be
continuous; increasing a participant's contribution to the pension fund; providing
that participants are entitled to credit for military service under certain conditions;
providing that a participant may obtain credited service for employment with the
State or a political subdivision of the State but not for employment with any other
agency or entity; providing that a participant who transfers credited service from
another entity is entitled to the lesser of the two benefits; altering the percentage of
final earnings to be paid a participant for each year of credit service; and deleting
the minimum benefit payable to a plan participant.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments

Article 7, §§ 3-101(i) and (n), 3-102(b), 3-202(b), 3-203(c)(l), and 3-207(a) and

(b), and 3-211(o)(1)09

Personnel - Exempt Service - Longevity Pay

FOR the purpose of requiring continuous County service for longevity pay in the Exempt
Service; and specifying that the Ordinance applies only to employees hired after a
certain date.
