Senate Bill 453, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 26,
1994, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 474.

AN ACT concerning

Food Service Facilities - Caterers - Display of License Numbers

FOR the purpose of requiring certain food service facilities that offer catering services to
include certain licensing information on certain materials and vehicles; providing for
the application of this Act; defining certain terms; providing a certain effective date;
and generally relating to food service facilities and catering services.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

21-312.1.

(A)     (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED,

(2)      "CATERING SERVICES" MEANS THE PREPARATION OR PROVISION
AND THE SERVING OF FOOD OR DRINK BY A FOOD SERVICE FACILITY FOR SERVICE
AT THE PROVIDER'S PREMISES OR ELSEWHERE IN CONNECTION WITH A SPECIFIC
EVENT OR A BUSINESS OR SOCIAL FUNCTION OR AFFAIR.

(3)      "CATERER" MEANS A FOOD SERVICE FACILITY THAT OFFERS
CATERING SERVICES OR IDENTIFIES ITSELF AS A CATERER.

(B)     A FOOD SERVICE FACILITY THAT OFFERS CATERING SERVICES OR THAT
IDENTIFIES ITSELF AS A CATERER SHALL INCLUDE ITS FOOD SERVICE FACILITY
LICENSE NUMBER, INCLUDING THE IDENTITY OF THE ISSUER OF THE LICENSE, ON:

(1) ALL ADVERTISING FOR CATERING SERVICES ALL ADVERTISING ON
BUSINESS CARDS, PUBLISHED PRINT MEDIA, FLYERS, BROCHURES, AND ANY
VEHICLES USED IN CONNECTION WITH CATERING SERVICES, AND IN TELEPHONE
DIRECTORIES; AND
