AN ACT concerning

Allegany County - Procurement - Competitive Bids

FOR the purpose of altering, for Allegany County, the value of certain contracts entered
into by the County Commissioners requiring competitive bids, and for which bonds
may be required.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:                                

Article 25 - County Commissioners

(l) (1) To provide for competitive bidding for any county work and the making
and awarding of contracts for the purchase of materials and supplies in excess of $500. and
to require bonds in connection with the work or contracts, whenever deemed proper; and
if no bids are submitted in response to any calls therefor, to place the order as in their
discretion they deem best.

(2) (i) The contracts shall be in excess of the amounts specified for the
counties set forth in this paragraph.

(ii)    Allegany County — [$5,000] $15,000

(iii)   Carroll County — $3,500

(iv)    Charles County — $5,000

(v)     Frederick County — $ 15,000

(vi)    Garrett County — $5,000

(vii)   Harford County — $1,000

(viii)  Kent County — $5,000
