SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the following section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland are
repealed:
Article 73B - Pensions
Section 1-101 through 1-506, inclusive, and 1-601 through 1-604, inclusive, and the
title "Title 1. General Provisions"; 2-101 through 2-205, inclusive, 2-207 through 2-409,
inclusive, and 2-411 through 2-419, inclusive, and the title "Title 2. Employees'
Retirement System of the State of Maryland"; 3-101 through 3-205, inclusive, 3-207
through 3-416, inclusive, and 3-506(b)(l) and (c)(1) and (4), inclusive, and the title "Title
3. Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Maryland"; 4-101 through 4-416,
inclusive, and the title "Title 4. Pension System for Employees of the State of Maryland";
5-101 through 5-415, inclusive, and the title "Title 5. Pension System for Teachers of the
State of Maryland"; 6-101 through 6-413, inclusive, and the title "Title 6. State Police
Retirement System of the State of Maryland"; 7-101 through 7-412, inclusive, and the
title "Title 7. Correctional Officers' Retirement System"; 8-101 through 8-410, inclusive,

(A) IN GENERAL.
IN THIS DIVISION II THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly was Art. 73B, § 1-101(a).
The clause "unless a different meaning is plainly required by the context" is
deleted as unnecessary. Except for the definition of "member", for which a
specific exception is stated in that definition, this revision ensures that the
definitions apply throughout.
