1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

               (ii) The dollar volume of total fees and taxes collected and excess fees
turned over to the State for each of the preceding [five] 5 years by the office of the
register for which the salary is being fixed; and

(iii) Other pertinent data which have relation to the reasonableness of
the salary in relation to the work done and volume handled by the office.

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

2-504.

(a)      The clerk of each circuit court shall receive an annual salary of not less than
$10,000 or more than [$60,000] $64,000 as set by the Board of Public Works on the basis of the
relative volume of business and receipts in his office. In Baltimore City, the clerk's salary may
not be less than $12,000.

(b)     A clerk shall devote his full working time to the duties of his office and is entitled
to the salary prescribed in subsection (a).

(c)      The salary of a clerk is payable biweekly.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the registers of wills or the clerks of the circuit courts
in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or compensation of the registers of wills and clerks of the circuit courts shall take
effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Howard County - Alcoholic Beverages -
Regulation of Places of Public Entertainment

Ho. Co. 2-94

FOR the purpose of specifying in Howard County that persons operating certain public
entertainment violate a certain law if they permit a female entertainer to exhibit her
breasts or buttocks in a certain manner; requiring in Howard County any person
who dispenses or serves food, beverages, or set-ups in a certain place of public
entertainment or any person who is responsible for the supervision or management
of a certain place of public entertainment to receive certain alcohol awareness
training; defining certain terms; specifying the hours and days during which certain
