(4)     To plan a course of action reflecting the needs, interests, and abilities of
the individual, family, or group; and

(5)     To use informational and community resources, as these procedures are
related to personal, social, emotional, educational, and vocational development and
adjustment.]

(G) "LICENSED ASSOCIATE COUNSELOR" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS
BEEN GRANTED AN ASSOCIATE LICENSE BY THE BOARD TO OFFER COUNSELING
SERVICES WHILE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF AN APPROVED SUPERVISOR.

(H) "LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS
LICENSED BY THE BOARD TO PRACTICE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING IN THE STATE.

(I) (G) "MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY" MEANS APPLYING MARRIAGE
AND FAMILY SYSTEMS THEORY, PRINCIPLES. METHODS, THERAPEUTIC
TECHNIQUES. AND RESEARCH IN:

(1) RESOLVING EMOTIONAL CONFLICT AND MODIFYING PERCEPTION
AND BEHAVIOR IN THE CONTEXT OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE; AND

(2) THE IDENTIFICATION AND ASSESSMENT OF CLIENT NEEDS AND THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION.

(J) (H) "LICENSED CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR-MARRIAGE AND
FAMILY THERAPIST" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS LICENSED CERTIFIED BY THE
BOARD TO PRACTICE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY IN THE STATE.

(I) "PRACTICE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY" MEANS TO ENGAGE
PROFESSIONALLY AND FOR COMPENSATION IN MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY
ACTIVITIES WHILE REPRESENTING ONESELF TO BE A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL
COUNSELOR-MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST.

[(g)] (I) (K)(J) "Practice professional counseling OR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
THERAP
Y" means to engage professionally and for compensation in counseling and
appraisal activities OR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY ACTIVITIES while
representing oneself to be a LICENSED professional counselor OR A LICENSED
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST.                  

[(h) "Professional counselor" includes any individual who practices professional
counseling.]

There is a State Board of Examiners of LICENSED Professional Counselors.

17-202.

(a) (1) The Board consists of [6] SEVEN members appointed by the Governor
with the advice of the Secretary.
