AN ACT concerning

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission - Products, Services, and Technology

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission to sell,
lease, or license to the public, and to enter into contracts concerning certain
products, services, and technology or related services; authorizing the adoption of a
price structure for a product, service, or technology; requiring that certain
expenditures and revenues be accounted for through a separate set of accounts;
requiring that profits earned be used for a certain purpose; providing for the
application of this Act; and generally relating to the authority of the WSSC to
market certain products, services, and technology or related services,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 29 - Washington Suburban Sanitary District

(A)     IN THIS SECTION, "PRODUCT", "SERVICE", OR "TECHNOLOGY" DOES NOT
INCLUDE WATER OR SEWER SERVICE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE PRIMARY MISSION
OF THE WSSC

(B)      (1) SUBJECT TO SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION, THE WSSC MAY SELL,
LEASE, OR LICENSE TO THE PUBLIC, OR ENTER INTO A CONTRACT CONCERNING;;

(I)      ANY PRODUCT, SERVICE; OR TECHNOLOGY UNIQUE TO THE
WSSC THAT IS PRODUCED OR DEVELOPED BY THE WSSC IN THE NORMAL COURSE OF
ITS OPERATIONS, INCLUDING PATENTS, TRADEMARKS, AND COPYRIGHTS, OR

(II)  ANY SERVICE DIRECTLY RELATED TO SUCH A PRODUCT OR
TECHNOLOGY.
