          (ii) Specially requested or permitted to do so in a political subdivision

by its chief executive officer or its chief police officer; or

(iii) Order to do so by the Governor.                            

(d)     An airport police employee is not a police employee as defined in Article 88B,
§ 2 of this Code unless he qualifies as such. However, all other provisions of Article 88B,
except § 4(a) through (d), are applicable to an airport police employee to the same extent
they are applicable to a police employee of the Maryland State Police, unless specifically
provided otherwise.

(e)     Each airport police employee shall remain a member of the Baltimore City
fire and police employees retirement system. The Administration shall reimburse the city
for the employer's cost of the pension coverage. However, effective July 1, 1977, each
airport police employee member who qualifies for and becomes a police employee of the
Maryland State Police shall become a member of the Maryland State Police pension
system in the manner provided in Article 73B for involuntary transfers between
retirement systems. The Administration shall reimburse the State Police Retirement

System, for any additional cost of such retirement coverage.

(f)      (1) An airport police employee is in the unclassified service of the State
Personnel Management System.

             (2) However, an airport police employee is subject to Division I of the State

Personnel Article to the same extent that a member of the Maryland State Police is
subject to that law.]

5-212.1.                                                      

(a) The Administrator may designate employees of the Administration to exercise
the powers specified in subsection (b) of this section.

(b) (1) An employee appointed under this section may issue citations to the
extent authorized by the Administrator for violations of those provisions of § 5-426 of this
title relating to motor vehicle parking at the airport.

(2) The issuance of citations under this section shall comply with
requirements of Title 26, Subtitle 3 of this article.

(c) The Administrator, in consultation with the [Superintendent of State Police]
CHIEF POLICE OFFICER OF THE MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY POLICE
and the Maryland Police Training Commission, shall adopt regulations establishing:

(1)     Qualifications for employees appointed under this section including
prerequisites of character, training, experience, and education; and

(2)     Standards for the performance of the duties assigned to employees
appointed under this section.

16-205.1.           

(i) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, a test for drug or
controlled dangerous substance content under this section:
