(2) EACH EMPLOYEE DESCRIBED IN SUBSECTION (1) PARAGRAPH (1) OF
THIS SUBSECTION SHALL REMAIN A MEMBER OF THE BALTIMORE CITY FIRE AND
POLICE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM. THE AUTHORITY SHALL REIMBURSE
THE CITY FOR THE EMPLOYER'S COST OF THE PENSION COVERAGE.
4-208.1.
(A) THE CHIEF POLICE OFFICER OF THE MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION
AUTHORITY POLICE FORCE MAY APPOINT EMPLOYEES OF THE AUTHORITY TO
EXERCISE THE POWERS SPECIFIED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION.
(B) (1) AN EMPLOYEE APPOINTED UNDER THIS SECTION MAY ISSUE
CITATIONS TO THE EXTENT AUTHORIZED BY THE CHIEF POLICE OFFICER FOR
VIOLATIONS OF THOSE PROVISIONS OF § 5-426 OF THIS TITLE ARTICLE RELATING TO
MOTOR VEHICLE PARKING AT BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT.
(2) THE ISSUANCE OF CITATIONS UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL COMPLY
WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF § 266-210 TITLE 26, SUBTITLE 3 OF THIS ARTICLE.
(C) THE CHIEF POLICE OFFICER, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE MARYLAND
POLICE TRAINING COMMISSION, SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS ESTABLISHING:
(1) QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYEES APPOINTED UNDER THIS
SECTION, INCLUDING PREREQUISITES OF CHARACTER, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE,
AND EDUCATION; AND
(2) STANDARDS FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DUTIES ASSIGNED TO
EMPLOYEES APPOINTED UNDER THIS SECTION.

(a) There is a category known as an airport police employee within the Maryland
State Police. Any person who is a member in good standing, as of July 1, 1977, of the
State Aviation Administration police force of the Department of Transportation shall
become an airport police employee and shall continue as such without diminution in
salary or benefits, except for shift differential, until retirement, resignation, or
termination. An airport police employee shall be paid in accordance with the Maryland
State Police pay plan.
(b) The Superintendent of the Maryland State Police shall determine and
establish the ranks and grades for airport police employees he deems necessary and
proper.
(c) (1) An airport police employee has all the powers granted to a peace officer
and a police officer of this State.
(2) An airport police employee may exercise these powers only on property
owned, leased, or operated by or under the control of the Administration and all property
located within one mile of any boundary of such property. He may not exercise these
powers on any other property unless:
(i) Engaged in fresh pursuit of a suspected offender;
