1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(2) "ADVERTISE FALSELY" INCLUDES THE USE OF AN ADVERTISEMENT
THAT CONTAINS AN AFFIRMATIVE REPRESENTATION THAT THE MARYLAND SALES
AND USE TAX WILL NOT BE COLLECTED BY THE RETAILER ON A PARTICULAR
TRANSACTION WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE PURCHASER OF THE PURCHASER'S DUTY
TO PAY THE SALES AND USE TAX DIRECTLY TO THE COMPTROLLER OF THIS STATE.

(c) "Person" includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust,
partnership, association, two or more persons having a joint or common interest, or any
other legal or commercial entity.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services - Inmate Fees

FOR the purpose of authorizing requiring the Secretary of Public Safety and Correctional
Services to assess fees not to exceed a certain amount for certain services to visits for
medical services by
prisoners housed in a correctional facility in the Department;
requiring the Secretary to adopt regulations to implement and collect certain fees;
authorizing an inmate's account to be charged for certain fees; authorizing certain
f
ees to be deducted from the earnings of a prisoner employed under work release
the Division of Correction to charge certain fees against an inmate's reserve
financial account or spending financial account; authorizing the Division of
Correction to deduct certain fees from an inmate's work release earnings; and
generally relating to inmate fees.
