SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an emergency
measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety, has
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from the date it is
enacted.

AN ACT concerning
Crofton Police Department
FOR the purpose of codifying provisions relating to the Crofton Police Department;
specifying that the Crofton Police Department is not an agency of Anne Arundel
County; specifying that Anne Arundel County is not responsible for certain acts or
omissions; specifying the powers and the duties of the Crofton Police Department;
requiring the Maryland Police Training Commission, or a certain designee, to adopt
certain standards; requiring that those members of the Crofton Police Department
who meet the requirements of the Police Training Commission shall be certified by
the Commission; granting the Crofton Police Department certain powers of
warrantless arrest; making members of the Crofton Police Department subject to
the Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights; requiring that a member of the
Crofton Police Department be notified of possible contact with certain diseases
under certain circumstances; and generally relating to the powers and rights of the
officers of the Crofton Police Department.
