(III)   FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS ON JANUARY 1, 1997,
$6,496; AND

(IV)   FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS ON JANUARY 1, 1998,
$6,728.

(3) Each judge shall also receive an expense allowance, in addition, up to
$50 per month, for personal expenses incidental to the judge's duties, to be paid by the
Treasurer of Howard County each month upon presentation of an itemized voucher.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III, §
35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to
the salary or compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court for Howard County in
office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary
or compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court for Howard County shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

Howard County - Sheriff - Salary

this Act does not apply to the salary of the incumbent Sheriff; and generally relating
