AN ACT concerning

Howard County - Judges of the Orphans' Court - Salary

Ho. Co. 17-94

FOR the purpose of altering the annual salary of the judges of the Orphans' Court for
Howard County; and providing that the salary increases do not apply to the judges
of the Court in office on the effective date of this Act, but shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(o) (1) Each judge of the Court for Howard County shall receive [an] annual
compensation [of $5,000], to be paid monthly, AS FOLLOWS:

(I)       FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS JANUARY 1, 1995,
$5,200;

(II)     FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS JANUARY 1, 1996,
$5,400;

(III)    FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS JANUARY 1, 1997,
$5,600; AND

(IV)    FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS JANUARY 1, 1998,
$5,800.

(2) The ANNUAL salary of the Chief Judge, TO BE PAID MONTHLY, is
[$5,800] AS FOLLOWS:

(I)       FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS ON JANUARY 1, 1995,
$6,032;

(II)     FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT BEGINS ON JANUARY 1, 1996,
$6,264;
