Court for Charles County; providing that this Act does not apply to the salary of the
incumbent judges; maintaining the salary established in a previous Act; and
generally relating to the salaries of judges of the Orphans' Court for Charles
County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Estates and Trusts

2.-101.

In the estates of decedents law, the word court means the orphans' court in a
county, or the court exercising the jurisdiction of the orphans' court in a county.

2-108.

(a) Except in Montgomery and Harford Counties, the judges of the courts shall
receive compensation and allowances as prescribed by law. Unless otherwise provided,
the compensation shall be paid in monthly installments. Mileage or travel expenses may
not be allowed to a judge for attending sessions of his court except as specifically
provided.

(j) (1) The salary for each judge of the Court for Charles County is:

[(i)   $4,500 for the calendar year 1991;

(ii)    $5,000 for the calendar year 1992;

(iii)   $5,500 for the calendar year 1993; and

(iv)] (I) $6,000 for the calendar year 1994;

(II)     $6,180 FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1995; AND

(III)   $6,365 FOR CALENDAR YEARS 1996, 1997, AND 1998.

(2) Each judge is entitled to $500 each year for travel expenses, payable
quarterly.
