AN ACT concerning

Calvert County - Treasurer - Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Calvert County Treasurer; providing that
this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent Calvert
County Treasurer; and generally relating to the salary of the Calvert County
Treasurer.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

51.

(a) The county treasurers of the several counties of the State shall receive
annually the respective salaries herewith set forth for performing the duties required of
them by their respective public local laws and by the public general laws of the State.

(c) (1) The County Treasurer of Calvert County shall receive an annual salary
of [$31,000] $37,000.

(2) The Treasurer shall appoint one deputy treasurer, who shall receive an
annual salary as may be set by the County Commissioners.

[(2)] (3) Any treasurer who, since 1948, has served for three or more terms
shall receive a pension in the annual amount of $150 for each year served as treasurer
when he leaves office. The pension shall be paid at least once a month.

[(3)] (4) (i) The County Commissioners of Calvert County shall provide
in their annual budget for a pension to be paid to the surviving spouse, if any, of any
treasurer of that County who was in office as of October, 1974.
