(iii) The maximum weight limit imposed by signs which have been
placed to regulate the weight of any vehicle passing over any bridge or culvert as provided
for in § 24-206 of this article; provided that signs posting the restriction are located at the
bridge or culvert and also prior to the last available alternate route which bypasses the
bridge or culvert.

Error: Extraneous article in § 27-105(a)(l)(iii) of the Transportation
Article.

Occurred: Ch. 5, Acts of 1993. Correction by the Michie Company in the
1993 Cumulative Supplement of Volume 2 of the Transportation Article is
validated by this Act.

Article 22 - Washington County

(c) (2) The provisions of this section do not apply to:

(iv) Any contract for which the County Commissioners approve sole
source procurement under [§ 1-106.1] § 1-106.2 of this subtitle.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

1.

(a) (1) It is [hereby declared as] the policy of the State OF MARYLAND that it
is necessary to regulate and control the manufacture, sale, distribution, transportation
and storage of alcoholic beverages within this State and the transportation and
distribution of alcoholic beverages into and out of this State to obtain respect and
obedience to law and to foster and promote temperance.

(2)     It is [hereby declared to be] the legislative intent that [such] THAT
policy will be carried out in the best public interest by empowering the Comptroller of the
Treasury, the various local boards of license commissioners and liquor control boards, all
enforcement officers and the judges of the various courts of this State with sufficient
authority to administer and enforce the provisions of this article.

(3)     The restrictions, regulations, provisions and penalties contained in this
article are for the protection, health, welfare and safety of the people of this State.
