AN ACT concerning

Higher Education - Public Service Partnership Program

FOR the purpose of repealing extending the sunset provision terminating the Public
Service Partnership Program.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Section 18-1901 and 18-1902

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 621 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1990
Section 3

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

18-1901.

In cooperation with the State's institutions of higher education, the Commission
shall establish and administer a Public Service Partnership Program.

18-1902.

The purpose of the Public Service Partnership Program shall be:

(1)     To provide financial assistance or college credit to students at all
institutions of higher education in the State; and

(2)     To provide public service in economically and environmentally
disadvantaged areas in the State.

Chapter 621 of the Acts of 1990

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1990. [It shall remain effective for a period of four eight years and, at the end of
June 30, 1994 1998, and with no further action required by the General Assembly, this
Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 30, 1994.
