(a)     There is an Automotive Safety Enforcement Division in the Maryland State
Police.

(b)     The Division shall have those employees that the Superintendent of State
Police assigns and as provided in the State budget.

(c)      (1) The Division shall enforce this subtitle in each of the counties of this
State AND BALTIMORE CITY.

(2) CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES OF THE DIVISION DESIGNATED BY THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY
TO ENFORCE THIS SUBTITLE AND ANY REGULATION ADOPTED UNDER IT WHEN
ACTING UNDER WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

Centralized Booking Facility

FOR the purpose of altering the date by which the Division of Pretrial Detention and
Services shall operate the centralized booking facility for Baltimore City; and
generally relating to the centralized booking facility.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative Departments

(a)      By July 1, [1994,] 1995, the Division of Pretrial Detention and Services shall
operate a centralized booking facility for Baltimore City.

(b)     This facility shall include:
