1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(1) the University provides assurances that it has sufficient funds to
complete all planned renovations to Byrd Stadium;

(2) the University develops a secure funding source for planned
renovations to Cole Field House; and

(3) the University prepares and reports to the budget committees a
feasibility study for the conference center, including: the impact of the
proposed center on the University College Center of Adult Education,
the potential for private development of a conference center, and the
impact of the proposed project on competing projects in the
surrounding area, including a proposed conference center at Shady
Grove. The University shall submit its report to the budget committees
on November 1, 1994, and the committees shall have 60 days for
review and comment.

Further provided that no more than $3.5 million provided herein shall
constitute the State's total maximum general obligation bond
contribution to the conference center , provided that authorized
funds be used solely for the purposes listed below, and no funds be
expended for any activities related to construction of a new
conference center on the campus......................................................

(2) Cole Field House Renovations.................................................

(E) Capital Facilities Renewal. Provide a portion of the funds to
design and construct capital facilities renewal projects as listed
below:

Building Renovations and Modifications, Phase V and Elevator
and Safety Code Improvements.........................................................

(F) Technology Advancement Program, Prepare detailed plans to
construct a replacement facility for the Technology Advancement
Program, provided that no funds may bo expended until the budget
committees receive an approved program plan. Once the plan is
received, the committees shall have 45 days for review and
comment..............................................................................................
