PART II. LEAD POISONING PREVENTION COMMISSION
6-807.
(A) THERE IS A LEAD POISONING PREVENTION COMMISSION IN THE
DEPARTMENT.
(B) (1) THE COMMISSION CONSISTS OF:
(I) 13 VOTING MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR WITH
THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE; AND
(II) TWO EX OFFICIO NONVOTING MEMBERS OF WHOM:
1. ONE SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE SENATE OF
MARYLAND, APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE; AND
2. ONE SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE MARYLAND HOUSE OF
DELEGATES, APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE.'
(2) IN APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMISSION, THE GOVERNOR
SHALL GIVE DUE CONSIDERATION TO APPOINTING MEMBERS REPRESENTING
GEOGRAPHICALLY DIVERSE JURISDICTIONS ACROSS THE STATE.
(C) THE 13 VOTING MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION, SHALL CONSIST OF:
(1) THE SECRETARY OR THE SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE;
(2) THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE OR THE
SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE;
(3) THE SECRETARY OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OR
THE SECRETARY'S DESIGNEE;
(4) THE SECRETARY OF HUMAN RESOURCES OR THE SECRETARY'S
DESIGNEE;
(5) THE MARYLAND INSURANCE COMMISSIONER OR THE
COMMISSIONER'S DESIGNEE;
(6) A REPRESENTATIVE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT;
(7) A REPRESENTATIVE FROM AN INSURER THAT OFFERS PREMISES
LIABILITY COVERAGE IN THE STATE;
(8) A REPRESENTATIVE OF OWNERS OF RENTAL PROPERTY BUILT
BEFORE 1950;
(9) A REPRESENTATIVE OF OWNERS OF RENTAL PROPERTY BUILT
AFTER 1949;
