Ch. 109 1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND
Committee on the strengths and weaknesses and any problems associated with the
implementation by the school system of its Year-Round Education Pilot Project in
accordance with the terms of the Year-Round Education Incentive Grant awarded by the
State Department of Education. The school systems shall submit quarterly reports for the
period June 1, 1994 through June 1, 1995, and a final report on or before December 1,
1995. The reports shall include data to date on: (1) the number of students impacted by
the Year-Round Education Pilot Project; (2) the extent to which staff and other
individuals are involved in the activities that result from the Year-Round Education Pilot
Project; and (3) the results of a cost-benefit analysis, including the expenditures of the
local school system and the attributes of student academic performance, of the
Year-Round Education Pilot Project.
SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning
Maryland Higher Education Loan Corporation - Dissolution
FOR the purpose of requiring the dissolution of the Maryland Higher Education Loan
Corporation by a certain date; requiring the Board of the Corporation, in
consultation with the Maryland Higher Education Commission, to enter into certain
negotiations with certain entities make a certain recommendation to the United
States Secretary of Education; requiring the Office of Legislative Audits to perform
a certain audit; providing for the severability of this Act; and generally relating to
the powers and authority of the Maryland Higher Education Loan Corporation..

Preamble .
WHEREAS, The Maryland Higher Education Loan Corporation has since its
inception in 1963 faithfully fulfilled its mission to improve the higher educational
opportunities of persons who are residents of this State; and
WHEREAS, The Board and staff of the Corporation have fulfilled their fiduciary
duty to the State and to the students of the State with diligence and distinction; and
