(6)     Sheriff;

(7)     State's Attorney; and

(8)     Treasurer.

(b) The Commission may recommend to the County Commissioners an increase
or decrease in the salary of any office in subsection (a) of this section.

(C) THE COMMISSION SHALL REPORT ITS RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ON OR BEFORE JUNE 30, 1997, AND ON OR BEFORE JUNE 30
EVERY FOURTH YEAR THEREAFTER.

(a)     Within 45 days after receiving the recommendations of the Commission, the
County Commissioners shall set by ordinance the salary for each office included in the
recommendations:

(1)     subject to subsection (b) of this section; and                                     

(2)     with respect to a public officer, in accordance with Article III, § 35 of
the Maryland Constitution.

(b)     The County Commissioners may accept, reduce, or reject, but may not
increase the recommendations of the Commission.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Anne Arundel County Transfer Tax - Agricultural Land Preservation

FOR the purpose of providing that Anne Arundel County may dedicate and expend a
portion of transfer tax revenues for agricultural land preservation under certain
circumstances; deleting obsolete language; and stating the intent of the General
Assembly with regard to this Act.
