(8)     A person, agency, or corporation nominated by a person caring for him
THE DISABLED PERSON;

(9)     Any other person, agency, or corporation considered appropriate by the
court;

(10)   For adults less than 65 years old, the director of the local department of
social services or, for adults 65 years old or older, the director of the State Office on
Aging or [local office] AREA AGENCY on aging, except in those cases where the
department of social services has been appointed guardian of the person prior to age 65.
DIRECTORS OF AREA AGENCIES ON AGING, UPON APPOINTMENT AS GUARDIAN,
MAY DELEGATE RESPONSIBILITIES OF GUARDIANSHIP TO STAFF PERSONS WHOSE
NAMES AND POSITIONS HAVE BEEN REGISTERED WITH THE COURT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund - Assigned Judgments - Indexing

FOR the purpose of requiring the courts to index any judgment assigned to the Maryland
Automobile Insurance Fund in the State's and Fund's name; and generally relating
to the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 48A - Insurance Code

243H.

(g) A judgment that has been assigned to or obtained by the Fund as provided for
in this section or its predecessor provisions shall be deemed in its entirety taken for the
use of the State, AND SHALL BE INDEXED IN THE APPROPRIATE COURT RECORDS IN
THE NAME OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND, MARYLAND AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE

FUND.
