AN ACT concerning

State Board of Architects - Waiver of Examination Requirements

FOR the purpose of providing that an applicant for an architect's license who is licensed
to practice architecture in another state or country may qualify for licensure by
providing adequate evidence to the State Board of Architects that the applicant
meets the education and experience requirements currently imposed by the laws of
Maryland at the time of application; providing that a licensee who has been granted
a waiver of the examination requirements and becomes licensed by the Board need
not maintain licensure in any other state or country as a condition of maintaining
the license granted by the Board; and generally relating to licensure by the State
Board of Architects.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

3-306.

(a)     Subject to the provisions of this section, the Board may waive any examination
requirement of this subtitle for an individual who:

(1)     is licensed to practice architecture in another state or country; or

(2)     is certified by the Council.

(b)     The Board may grant a waiver under this section for an applicant who is
licensed to practice architecture in another state or country only if the applicant:

(1)     is of good character and reputation;

(2)     pays to the Board an application fee not exceeding $100, as set by the
Board; and

(3)     provides adequate evidence that:
