(Senate Bill 114)

AN ACT concerning                                                                                             

Board for Professional Land Surveyors - Educational and Experience Requirements for

Examination

FOR the purpose of altering the educational and experience qualifications required to sit
for the Professional Land Surveyors Examination; repealing provisions of law
relating to the early administration of the fundamentals of land surveying
examination; and generally relating to licensing of land surveyors by the Board for
Professional Land Surveyors.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:                             

Article - Business Occupations and Professions

15-304.

(a)     To qualify for a license, an applicant shall be an individual who meets the
requirements of this section.

(b)     The applicant shall be of good character and reputation.             

(c)     An applicant for a license to practice land surveying shall meet the
educational and experience requirements under § 15-305 of this subtitle.                   

[(d) (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, an applicant for a license to
practice property line surveying shall have at least 6 years of work experience in property
line surveying that is satisfactory to the Board and that indicates to the Board that the
applicant may be competent to practice property line surveying.
