CERTIFY TO THE SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL THAT THE INVENTION, SUGGESTION,
ACCOMPLISHMENT, OTHER PERSONAL EFFORT, OR EMPLOYMENT-RELATED ACT OR
SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL AND UNUSUALLY OUTSTANDING.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 64A, § 32A(i).

In subsection (b) of this section, the title "Secretary of Budget and Fiscal
Planning" is substituted for the former obsolete title "State Budget Director".

Also in subsection (b) of this section, the reference to "personal effort ... or
employment-related act or service" is substituted for the former reference to
"other meritorious effort" for consistency.

8-204. SAME — AWARD AS ADDITION TO REGULAR PAY.

A CASH AWARD MADE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE IS IN ADDITION TO THE
REGULAR PAY OF THE RECIPIENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly was the first clause of Art. 64A, §
32A(f).

The only changes are in style.

8-205. SAME — EFFECT OF ACCEPTANCE.

ACCEPTANCE OF A CASH AWARD MADE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE CONSTITUTES
AN AGREEMENT THAT USE BY THIS STATE OF ANY IDEA, METHOD, OR DEVICE FOR
WHICH THE AWARD WAS GIVEN DOES NOT FORM THE BASIS OF ANY CLAIM AGAINST
THIS STATE BY THE EMPLOYEE OR THE HEIRS OR ASSIGNS OF THE EMPLOYEE.

change from the second clause of former Art. 64A, § 32A(f).

8-206. EFFECT OF DEATH OR SEPARATION.

AN AWARD MAY BE MADE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE NOTWITHSTANDING THE
EMPLOYEE'S DEATH OR SEPARATION FROM EMPLOYMENT, IF THE INVENTION,
SUGGESTION, ACCOMPLISHMENT, OTHER PERSONAL EFFORT, OR
EMPLOYMENT-RELATED ACT OR SERVICE PROPOSED FOR THE AWARD OCCURRED
WHILE THE EMPLOYEE WAS EMPLOYED WITH THIS STATE.

8-207. EFFECT ON PROMOTION.

AN AWARD MADE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE CONSIDERED FAVORABLY
IN QUALIFYING AND SELECTING EMPLOYEES FOR PROMOTION.
