Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 1324.

This bill would decrease the motor fuel tax rate for clean-burning fuels to 23.5 cents per
gallon.

Senate Bill 775, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 11,
1993, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 1324.

AN ACT concerning

Motor Fuel Tax - Alternative Fuels Clean-Burning Fuels

FOR the purpose of altering the rate of the motor fuel tax for certain special fuels;
defining a certain term; clarifying the definition of a certain term; and generally
relating to the motor fuel tax rate on certain special fuels.
