Senate Bill No. 191

AN ACT concerning

Dorchester County - Land Surveying - Notice to Adjoining Landowners

FOR the purpose of requiring a landowner in Dorchester County to give prior written
notice of a land certain type of survey to all owners of land that adjoins the land that
is to be surveyed; establishing the manner in which the notice is required to be
served; providing a certain exception exceptions; requiring an owner's certificate on a
subdivision plat to include a certain certificate statement before it may be recorded
in Dorchester County under certain circumstances; and generally relating to notice to
adjoining landowners of land that is to be surveyed.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Real Property

14-121.

(A)     IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, BEFORE A PLOT OF LAND MAY BE SURVEYED,
THE LANDOWNER SHALL GIVE WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE LAND SURVEY TO ALL
OWNERS OF LAND THAT ADJOINS THE LAND THAT IS TO BE SURVEYED.

(B)     (1) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION,
NOTICE SHALL BE SERVED BY:

(I) CERTIFIED OR REGISTERED MAIL, RETURN RECEIPT
REQUESTED; OR
