the State, to the State Scholarship Administration, and to the Board of Physician
Quality Assurance Fund; specifying certain uses of funds by the State Scholarship
Administration; requiring the Board to assess certain individuals a fee of not more
that than $50 after the submission of a certain budget by the Medical and
Chirurgical Faculty to the Board"; authorizing the use of certain fees as approved by
the Secretary; requiring the Board to set a certain fee in accordance with a certain
budget; requiring the Legislative Auditor to annually audit certain accounts and
transactions of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty for the physician rehabilitation
program and peer review activities; authorizing the Secretary of Health and Mental
Hygiene to approve the use of certain fees for a certain programs program and
certain activities; and repealing a requirement that a certain portion of the fees
collected by the Board of Physician Quality Assurance and the Board of Nursing be
distributed in a certain manner requiring the Legislative Auditor to conduct a certain
audit before the Secretary is transferred certain authority.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health Occupations
8-206.
(b) (1) The Board may set reasonable fees for the issuance and renewal of
licenses and its other services.
(2) The fees charged shall be set so as to produce funds to approximate the
cost of maintaining the Board [and contributing to the General Fund of the State as
provided in subsection (d) of this section].
(d) (1) The Board shall pay all fees collected under the provisions of this title to
the Comptroller of the State,
(2) The Comptroller shall distribute[:
(i) 20 percent of the fees received from the Board to the General
Fund of the State and
(ii) The balance of] the fees to the Board of Nursing.
