Ch. 629

Chapter 502 of the Acts of 1991

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1991. [It shall remain effective for a period of two years and, at the end of June
30, 1993, with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be
abrogated and of no further force and effect.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the State Scholarship
Administration shall:

(1)     By December 31 each year, submit an annual statement to the
Legislative Policy Committee of the General Assembly reporting on the utilization of the
money transferred from the Physician Quality Assurance Program to the Health
Manpower Shortage Incentive Grant Program and to the Loan Assistance Repayment
Program under this Act;

(2)     By December 31, 1998 submit a full report to the Legislative Policy
Committee of the General Assembly on the effect of this Act regarding the recruitment
and retention of individuals to work in the State:

(a)     In health occupations governed by the Health Manpower Shortage
Incentive Grant Program under § 18-804.1 of the Education Article of the Code; and

(b)     As primary care physicians under the Loan Assistance Repayment
Program under § 18-1602 of the Education Article of the Code.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Comptroller may not
distribute the fees received under § 14-207(c)(2)(i)(ii) of the Health Occupations Article
in accordance with the provisions of this Act prior to the Fiscal Year that begins July 1,
1994.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July l, 1993.

AN ACT concerning

Health Occupations - Board of Physician Quality Assurance Fund and Board of Nursing

Fund

FOR the purpose of repealing the termination clause on the enactment establishing the
Board of Physician Quality Assurance Fund and the Board of Nursing Fund;
providing for the effective date of this Act; repealing certain provisions of law
concerning a physician rehabilitation program and peer review activities of the
Medical and Chirurgical Faculty requiring the Comptroller to distribute certain fees

collected by the State Board of Physician Quality Assurance to the General Fund of
