(vii) The Maryland Aviation Administration police force of the
Department of Transportation, the Mass Transit Administration police force of .the
Department of Transportation, the [Maryland Toll Facilities police] MARYLAND
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY POLICE force [of the Maryland Transportation
Authority], and the Maryland Port Administration police force of the Department of
Transportation;
(viii) The law enforcement officers of the Department of Natural
Resources; or
(ix) The Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Enforcement Unit.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993 January 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning
State Board of Physician Quality Assurance and Board of Nursing
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Board of Physician Quality Assurance to disclose
certain information to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under
certain circumstances; authorizing the Board to enter into certain contracts for
certain purposes; defining a certain term; requiring psychiatrists' assistants to
submit a certain application by a certain date altering the membership of the
Acupuncture Advisory Council; altering and repealing certain provisions regarding
the waiver of examinations and authorizing the Board to promulgate regulations to
waive certain examination requirements; authorizing the Board to set forth
requirements for physicians to collaborate with certain other health care providers;
authorizing the Board to establish standards for the governance of examinations,
standards; and qualifications for individuals not seeking a license to be examined;
repealing certain provisions of law concerning physician rehabilitation and peer
review activities of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland; authorizing
the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene to approve the use of certain fees for
certain programs and certain activities; reducing certain fees; altering a provision to
allow graduation from an English speaking high school, including GED, as proof of
proficiency in English; altering the number of months a case is open before the
Board is required to make a certain report; authorizing the Board to permit
inspection of its records for research purposes under certain circumstances;
authorizing the Board to issue cease and desist orders. or obtain injunctive relief
under certain circumstances; requiring the Comptroller to distribute certain fees
collected by the Board of Physician Quality Assurance to the General Fund of the State,
to the State Scholarship Administration, and to the Board of Physician Quality
Assurance Fund; specifying certain uses of funds by the State Scholarship
