corporation or as a constitutional officer for a county that is a participating municipal
corporation and who is serving in that position on June 1, 1993.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning
Certified Plumber Licenses - Training in Backflow Preventer Technician Prevention
Device Testing
FOR the purpose of providing that an individual shall be certified applicant for a journey
plumber license or a master plumber license shall obtain certain training in testing
backflow prevention devices in a manner approved by the State Board of Plumbing
before the individual may provide backflow prevention services; establishing certain
requirements for obtaining a certificate; providing for the issuance, scope, term,
renewal, and reinstatement of a certificate; authorizing the Board, under certain
circumstances, to deny a certificate, reprimand a certificate holder, or suspend or
revoke a certificate; authorizing a person to engage in the business of providing
plumbing services and providing backflow prevention services if the person meets
certain requirements; requiring a person who provides backflow prevention services
to comply with certain standards; prohibiting certain acts and providing penalties
for violation of the prohibitions; defining certain terms; exempting a licensed
appliance installer in Washington County from certain plumber licensing requirements
under certain circumstances; providing for the effective date of this Act; providing for
the application of this Act; and generally relating to the regulation of individuals
who provide backflow prevention services.
