WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                            Ch. 544

(1)      CONSULT, COOPERATE, AND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT POSSIBLE,
COORDINATE ITS ACTIVITIES WITH THE AUTHORITY; AND

(2)      CONDUCT OR SUPPORT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE UNIT IN A MANNER
THAT:

(I)       TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PRACTICABLE, IS CONSISTENT
WITH THE MANAGEMENT PLAN ESTABLISHED UNDER § 13-1011 OF THIS SUBTITLE;

AND

(II)     AS DETERMINED UNDER ARTICLE 83B, §§ 5-617 AND 5-618 OF
THE CODE, DOES NOT HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE HISTORIC RESOURCES OF
THE PRESERVATION DISTRICT.

(B) A UNIT OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT MAY NOT ISSUE ANY LICENSE OR
PERMIT TO ANY PERSON TO CONDUCT ANY ACTIVITY WITHIN THE PRESERVATION
DISTRICT UNLESS THE UNIT DETERMINES THAT THE PROPOSED ACTIVITY:

(1)      WILL BE CONDUCTED IN A MANNER THAT IS CONSISTENT WITH THE
MANAGEMENT PLAN ESTABLISHED UNDER § 13-1011 OF THIS SUBTITLE; AND

(2)      AS DETERMINED UNDER ARTICLE 83B, §§ 5-617 AND 5-618 OF THE
CODE, DOES NOT HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE HISTORIC RESOURCES OF THE
PRESERVATION DISTRICT.

13-1031. 13-1030.

IF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS FINDS THAT THE AUTHORITY OR THE CITY
OF CUMBERLAND HAS FAILED TO MAKE GOOD FAITH EFFORTS TO IMPLEMENT ANY
RESPONSIBILITY UNDER THIS ACT OR A MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE
PRESERVATION DISTRICT, THE BOARD MAY REFUSE TO OBLIGATE, EXPEND, OR
APPROVE ANY FINANCIAL COMMITMENT ON BEHALF OF THE AUTHORITY.

THIS SUBTITLE MAY BE CITED AS THE CANAL PLACE PRESERVATION AND
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACT.

(e) "Designated unit" means:

(1)      the Department of General Services;

(2)      the Department of Transportation;

(3)      the Interagency Committee on School Construction;

(4)      the Maryland Food Center Authority;

(5)      the Maryland Stadium Authority;
