administrator for the Board as an investigator. The State Board of Electrologists shall
make a report on the findings of its investigation to the Senate Economic and
Environmental Affairs Committee and the House Environmental Matters Committee on
or before November 1, 1993.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1990. [It shall remain effective for a period of 3 years and, at the end of June 30,
1993, and with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be
abrogated and of no further force or effect.]
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October July 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning :
State Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Speech-Language Pathologists
FOR the purpose of continuing the; State Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers,
and Speech-Language Pathologists (Board) in accordance with the Maryland
Program Evaluation Act by extending to a certain date the termination provision
relating to the statutory and regulatory authority of the Board and the regulation of
audiologists, hearing aid dispensers, and speech language pathologists; altering a
certain definition; requiring the hearing aid dispenser member of the Board to have
certain work experience; requiring the Governor to appoint the hearing impaired
consumer member of the Board in a certain manner; requiring the Governor's
Office for Individuals with Disabilities to solicit certain nominees from certain
associations; prohibiting a member of the Board from serving in a certain capacity
for certain professional or trade associations; authorizing the Board to adopt certain
regulations; requiring individuals who are employed as speech. language
pathologists in certain educational settings to be licensed by the Board; making a
certain exception repealing the authority of the Board to inspect certain facilities;
clarifying certain language; [requiring an applicant for a hearing aid dispenser
license to obtain certain training prior to taking the Board examination; making a
certain exception; authorizing the Board to renew the licenses of certain individuals
who took certain actions to become licensed prior to July 1, 1991; altering the date
of expiration of a limited license to provide hearing aid services; authorizing the
Board to renew certain licenses for a certain term; altering the amount of time
during which a certain individual may provide certain services; authorizing the
Board to impose certain civil penalties under certain circumstances; requiring the
Board to adopt certain regulations; requiring the Board to pay certain penalties into
the General Fund of the State; and generally relating to the State Board of
