Ch. 360                                     1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(11)    (I) AFTER ANY ACTION UNDER PARAGRAPH (10) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, THE LICENSEE OR PERMIT HOLDER IS ENTITLED TO A HEARING
BEFORE THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS.

(II) PENDING THE OUTCOME OF THE HEARING, AND ON REQUEST
OF THE LICENSEE OR PERMIT HOLDER, THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS
MAY STAY THE DEPARTMENT'S SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF A LICENSE OR
PERMIT IMPOSED UNDER PARAGRAPH (10) OF THIS SUBSECTION.

(12)    AFTER A HEARING, THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY BOARD OF
ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS MAY SUSPEND OR REVOKE ANY LICENSE OR PERMIT
RELATING TO CASINO NIGHTS.

(13)    (I) A PERSON WHOSE LICENSE OR PERMIT IS SUSPENDED OR
REVOKED FOLLOWING A HEARING BEFORE THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY BOARD
OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS MAY APPEAL TO THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTY.

(II) AN APPEAL UNDER THIS PARAGRAPH SHALL BE HEARD BY
THE COURT WITHOUT A JURY.

(III) THERE IS A REBUTTABLE PRESUMPTION THAT THE DECISION
OF THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS IS PROPER.

(14)    A PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS SUBSECTION IS
GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND, ON CONVICTION, IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT
EXCEEDING $5,000 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 3 YEARS OR BOTH.

(15)    NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW OR REGULATION, THE TOTAL
ANNUAL AMOUNTS PAID TO THE DEPARTMENT BY A CASINO, INCLUDING THE
ANNUAL LICENSE FEE, PERCENTAGE OF PROCEEDS, PERMIT FEES FOR WORKERS,
AND ANY OTHER REQUIRED PAYMENT, MAY NOT EXCEED $35,000.

(16)    NOTHING IN THIS SECTION, § 255(B)(1) OF THIS ARTICLE AS IT
RELATES TO CASINO NIGHTS, OR REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
PROHIBIT A PLAYER FROM VOLUNTARILY TIPPING A DEALER OR OTHER WORKER
DURING A CASINO NIGHT.

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

2-309.

(r) (8) The Sheriff and his deputies shall be limited- in their duties as law
enforcement officers, as follows:

(i) The full power of arrest, the service of process of all writs,
summonses, orders, petitions, subpoenas, warrants, rules to show cause, and all other
legal papers;

(ii) The care and, supervision of prisoners at any of the county
detention centers, hospitals, penal' institutions, or other places of confinement;
