WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                         Ch. 357

(2)     Two appointees shall each serve 3 years;

(3)     Two appointees shall each serve 2 years; and

(4)     Two appointees shall each serve 1 year; and

(5) The appointee of the Chamber of Commerce shall serve 4 years.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1993.

(House Bill 1130)

AN ACT concerning

State Personnel - Duties, Authority, and Jurisdiction of the Secretary of Personnel

FOR the purpose of altering the scope of certain provisions governing overtime
compensation, compensatory work for absences due to religious beliefs, and shift
differential pay for State employees; removing certain employees of the Judicial and
Legislative Branches of government from the Secretary of Personnel's jurisdiction
over overtime compensation, compensatory work for absences due to religious
beliefs, holidays, shift differential pay, and part-time employment; authorizing the
Legislative Policy Committee to adopt guidelines governing overtime compensation,
compensatory work for absences due to religious beliefs, holidays, and part-time
employment for certain employees of the Legislative Branch of government; altering
a certain requirement that the Secretary of Personnel advise the Governor on
certain matters; altering the Secretary's authority to require certain employees to
appear and give evidence under certain circumstances and to regulate part-time
employment; and generally relating to State employees.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 2-102(d), 2-109, 5-102, 6-201(a), 6-301, 7-201 (a), and 7-701
