SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

6-308.
(A) IN A SUIT AGAINST THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF BALTIMORE CITY, IS
AN AGENCY AND INSTRUMENTALITY OF THE STATE AS PROVIDED IN § 16-2(A) OF
THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF BALTIMORE CITY.
(B) PROCESS MAY BE SERVED ON THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF BALTIMORE
CITY IN THE SAME MANNER AS SERVICE IS MADE ON AN AGENCY OF THE STATE AS
PROVIDED IN MARYLAND RULE 2-124.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning
Health Insurance - Long-Term Care Insurance
FOR the purpose of extending the express rulemaking authority of the Insurance
Commissioner regarding long term care insurance to include termination of
insurance and requirements for replacement; altering the applicability of a
preexisting condition limitation; requiring that certain additional information be
included in the outline of coverage for a long term care policy; imposing certain
requirements concerning content and delivery of policy summaries when a life
insurance policy provides long-term care benefits; requiring certain monthly reports
to be delivered to policyholders during payout of certain long-term care benefits;
and generally relating to long-term care insurance and benefits.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 48A - Insurance Code
