1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

certain units of government for a certain purpose and under certain circumstances;
requiring certain units of government to complete only one application for certification
under certain circumstances;
providing for the effective date of this Act; and
generally relating to the applicability of youth camp regulations of the Department
of Health and Mental Hygiene to play certain camps operated by a county or
municipal corporation

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health - General

14-401.

(a)     In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

(b)     "Camper" means any child under 18 years of age who is attending a youth
camp.

(c) "Occasional use" means periodic involvement in a program where there is no
expectation of regular attendance.

(d) (C)    "Council" means the Youth Camp Safety Advisory Council.

(e) (D)    "Day camp" means a youth camp that:

(1)     Is operated for all or part of the day but less than 24 hours, a day;

(2)     Is conducted for at least 7 days during a 3-week period; and

(3)     Provides 3 or more recreational activities or any 1 specialized activity
including:

(i)     Aquatic programs;

(ii)    Horseback riding;

(iii)   Firearms control;

(iv)    Riflery;
