1993 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(c) (1) If a retiree receives a State disability retirement allowance or has 16 or
mor
e years of creditable service, the retiree or the retiree's surviving spouse or dependent
child is entitled to the sam
e State subsidy allowed a State employee.

(2) In all other cases, if a retiree has at least 5 years of creditable service,
OR WAS IN RECEIPT OF AN ORDINARY DISABILITY RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE AND
WAS PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE EMPLOYEES HEALTH INSURANCE
PROGRAM PRIOR TO OCTOBER 1, 1992, the retiree or the retiree's surviving spouse or
dependent child is
entitled to 1/16 of the State subsidy allowed a State employee for each
year of the retir
ee's creditable service up to 16 years,

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning

Natural Resources Law Officers - Overtime

FOR the purpose of repealing a certain limit on the accrual of compensatory time for
certain Natural Resources law enforcement officers.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - State Personnel and Pensions

Section 6-309(c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter____ (S:B. 50) of the Acts of the General Assembly of

1993)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Personnel and Pensions

6-309:

(c) A law enforcement employee of the Maryland State Police holding a
commissioned rank or a law enforcement employee of the [Department of] Natural
Resources POLICE holding a rank above sergeant [, above Park Ranger Supervisor, or
above Park Services Supervisor] may not receive payment for any overtime work; but may
be granted compensatory time for overtime work in excess of 30 overtime hours in a fiscal
year:

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.
