SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Family Law

SUBTITLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

12-101.

The court may award child support for a period from the
filing of the pleading that requests child support.

SUBTITLE 2. CHILD SUPPORT GUIDELINES

2-201 12-201.

(A)  IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(B)   "INCOME" MEANS:

(1)  ACTUAL GROSS INCOME OF A PARENT, IF THE PARENT
IS EMPLOYED TO FULL CAPACITY; OR

(2)  POTENTIAL INCOME OF A PARENT, IF THE PARENT IS
UNEMPLOYED OR UNDEREMPLOYED VOLUNTARILY IMPOVERISHED.

(C)  (1) " GROSS ACTUAL INCOME" MEANS INCOME FROM ANY
SOURCE.

(2)  FOR INCOME FROM SELF-EMPLOYMENT, RENT, ROYALTIES,
PROPRIETORSHIP OF A BUSINESS, OR JOINT OWNERSHIP OF A PARTNERSHIP
OR CLOSELY HELD CORPORATION, "GROSS ACTUAL INCOME" MEANS GROSS
RECEIPTS MINUS ORDINARY AND NECESSARY EXPENSES REQUIRED TO
PRODUCE INCOME.

(3)   " GROSS ACTUAL INCOME" INCLUDES:

(I)  SALARIES;

(II)  WAGES;

(III)  COMMISSIONS;

(IV)  BONUSES;

(V)  DIVIDEND INCOME;
(VI) SEVERANCE PAY;
(VII) (VI) PENSION INCOME;
(VIII) (VII) INTEREST INCOME;
