WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 3
(3) THE SIGNATURES OF THE CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY OF
THE BOARD, UNDER SEAL OF THE BOARD.
(D) REPLACEMENT OF LICENSE CERTIFICATE.
SUBJECT TO ANY REGULATION THAT THE BOARD ADOPTS, IT SHALL
REPLACE ANY LOST, MUTILATED, OR DESTROYED LICENSE CERTIFICATE ON:
(1) REQUEST OF THE LICENSEE; AND
(2) PAYMENT OF THE REPLACEMENT FEE SET BY THE BOARD,
NOT EXCEEDING $35.
REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a)(1) of this section is new
language added to state expressly that the Board must
give notice to qualified applicants. This addition
conforms to the practice of the Board.
Subsection (a)(2) of this section is new language
derived without substantive change from the first
sentence and, as it related to professional engineers,
the third sentence of former Art. 75 1/2, § 13(a) and
rephrased as part of the notice requirement.
Subsection (b) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first sentence of
former Art. 75 1/2, § 15(a).
Subsection (c) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second clause of
former Art. 75 1/2, § 8(c) and, as it related to a
professional engineer, the fourth sentence of § 15(a).
Subsection (d) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 75 1/2, § 17(f), except as that sentence
related to a revoked license.
In subsection (c)(2) of this section, the word
"registration" is substituted for the former word
"serial", for clarity.
Former Art. 75 1/2, § 12(h), which made an individual
eligible for a license "although he may not be
practicing his profession at the time of making his
application", is deleted as misleading since the
central theme of this title is that an individual must
be licensed to practice engineering. Former § 12(h)
implied just the opposite -- i.e., an individual
already should have been practicing when the
individual applies for a license.
