Ch. 3
LAWS OF MARYLAND
Subsection (d)(1) of this section is new language
added to restate the 2 types of examinations that the
Board administers, as provided in the various
alternative licensing requirements under § 14-305 of
this subtitle.
Subsection (d)(2) and (3) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from
former Art. 75 1/2, § 14(c) and restated in language
comparable to that used throughout this article for
similar provisions.
In subsection (b) of this section, the word
"periodically" is added for clarity and conformity to
the practice of the Board.
Former Art. 75 1/2, § 14(b), which precluded taking
the principles and practice of engineering examination
until satisfying all other license requirements, is
deleted as unnecessary and potentially misleading.
Subsection (a)(1) of this section more clearly states
the general rule that an individual must meet all the
other licensing requirements of this title before
taking either the fundamentals of engineering
examination or the principles and practice of
engineering examination. Section 14-310 of this
subtitle provides 2 exceptions with respect to the
fundamentals examination. Nothing in this title,
however, purports to qualify the general rule as
applied to the principles and practice examination,
and it would be superfluous to state specifically that
the general rule applies to this examination. See the
revisor's note to § 14-310 of this subtitle.
Defined terms: "Board" § 14-101
"License" § 14-101
14-308. SAME -- FAILURE.
