HOWARD COUNTY

RESOLUTION proposing to amend Section 1002 "Charter Revision
Commission" of Article X "Manner of Amending or Terminating this
Charter" of the Howard County Charter to change the name of the
Charter Revision Commission to the Charter Review Commission; to
fix its membership at fifteen and to provide for the method of
appointment of its chairman; and submitting this amendment to the
voters of Howard County for their acceptance or rejection in
accordance with Article X of the Howard County Charter.

Commission

AN ACT amending subtitle 6 "Historic District Commission" of
Title 16 "Planning, Zoning, Subdivision, etc" of the Howard
County Code to require the Commission, upon receipt of an
application, to place it on the agenda for its next scheduled
meeting; to allow the Commission to determine the size of a
quorum; to specify that failure of the Commission to act within
45 days of a hearing on an application constitutes approval; and
to set a 30 day time period for the filing of appeals.

Effective Date May 9, 1988.

AN ACT amending various sections of Subtitle 5 "Agricultural
Land Preservation" of Title 15 "Natural Resources" of the Howard
County Code in order to allow the purchase of development rights
which exceed 50% of the total value of the parcel and in order to
extend the length of the option to purchase development rights
from the current 180 days to 270 days.

Effective Date May 9, 1988.
