MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

inclusive, of the Public Local Laws of Calvert County, Article 5
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1981 Edition, as
amended), by repealing and re-enacting, with amendments, Section
18-721 of the Charter, for the purpose of authorizing the Council
to determine by ordinance various matters pertaining to the
manner in which, and the terms and conditions on which, bonds,
notes or other evidences of indebtedness of the Town may be
issued, sold, delivered, secured and paid; and matters relating
to bonds.

[Section 18-721 of the Charter of the Town of Chesapeake
Beach, Calvert County, as found in the compilation of Municipal
Charters of Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

Effective Date April 8, 1988]

CHESTERTOWN

(Kent County)

1988 CHESTERTOWN ANNEXATION RESOLUTION NO. 1

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Chestertown has authority
to annex land pursuant to Art. 11-E of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland and Section 19 of Art 23A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland 1975 Edition as amended, entitled "Municipal
Corporations", and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Chestertown is desirous of
annexing certain lands contiguous with the Town and

WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will not create any
unincorporated area which is bound on all sides by real property
presently within the corporate limits of the Town, real property
proposed to be within the corporate limits of the Town as a
result of the annexation, or any combination of such properties,
and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Chestertown has obtained
the consent of not less than 25% of the registered voters in the
area to be annexed, and from the owners of not less than 25% of
the assessed value of the area to be annexed, and

WHEREAS, an outline for the extension of services and public
facilities has been provided and is available for public review
and discussion at public hearings to be held.

NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT the Mayor and Council
amend the Charter of Chestertown.
