Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Board of
Regents;                                                           

(4)  Submit the names in a manner that reflects the
present congressional boundaries of the State so as to
insure compliance with the geographic distribution mandated
by Chapter 246 of the Acts of 1988;

(5)  For the initial meetings of the Maryland Higher
Education Commission and the Board of Regents of the
University of Maryland System:

(a)  Develop a preliminary agenda;

(b)  Set the date of the initial meetings; and

(c)  Provide necessary logistical assistance as
appropriate and requested;

(6)   In consultation with appropriate legislative
leaders, institutional administrators, faculty
representatives, student representatives, and members of the
present governing boards, identify broad issues of concern
and provide advice for the uninterrupted continuation of the
process and the transition under Chapter 246 of the Acts of
1988; and

(7)  Consistent with this Executive Order, make any
other recommendations that promote the interests of higher
education and the State of Maryland.

D. Termination. The Transition Team shall complete its
responsibilities by July 1, 1988.
