Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 330.

This bill increases the salary of the Caroline County Sheriff
beginning with the next term of office.

Senate Bill 248, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 25, 1989, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 330.

AN ACT concerning

Caroline County - Sheriff's Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Caroline County
Sheriff; and providing that the salary increase does not
affect the incumbent sheriff.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
