WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 795.

This bill exempts from State and local property taxes property
owned by a nonprofit fire company or rescue squad that is used as
a residence for a member of the fire company who is the caretaker
or alternatively is not an employee of the fire company and does
not pay for using the property.

House Bill 1383, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 25, 1989, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 795.

Sincerely,

William Donald Schaefer

Governor

Senate Bill No. 795

Section 7-209

Annotated Code of Maryland
