WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

Ch. 3

In subsection (a) of this section, the former specific
references to graduation from law school are deleted
as surplusage.

In subsection (e)(1) of this section, the reference to
"results" of an examination is substituted for the
former reference to "proceedings in" an examination,
for clarity.

In subsection (e)(2) of this section, the phrases
"about the character and reputation of each applicant
who passes the examination" are added to clarify the
former vague reference to "any recommendations".
Under Rule 4 of the Rules Governing Admission to the
Bar, the Court appoints a Character Committee for each
of the 8 judicial circuits of the State. After a
Character Committee investigates the character of an
applicant, it submits to the Board a recommendation on
the character, fitness, and standing of the applicant
to be admitted to the Bar. After considering the
recommendation of a Character Committee, the Board
submits its recommendation to the Court of Appeals.

Defined terms: "Admission to the Bar" § 10-101
"Board" § 10-101

10-210. ADMISSION OF LAWYERS FROM OTHER STATES.
