10-208. PETITIONS FOR ADMISSION; FEES.

(A)  PETITION.

AN APPLICANT FOR ADMISSION TO THE BAR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE
BOARD A PETITION TO THE COURT OF APPEALS ON THE FORM THAT THE
BOARD PROVIDES.

(B)  FEES.

AN APPLICANT SHALL PAY TO THE BOARD:

(1)  AN EXAMINATION FEE NOT EXCEEDING $75, AS SET BY
THE COURT OF APPEALS; AND

(2)  ANY OTHER FEE SET BY THE COURT OF APPEALS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) and (b)(1) of this section
are new language derived without substantive change
from the fifth sentence of former Art. 10, § 2 and
the second sentence of § 3(d)(1).

Subsection (b)(2) of this section is new language
added to clarify that the Court of Appeals has the
power to set other fees. As to the general authority
of the Court of Appeals to set fees, see § 10-103 of
this title. For a further discussion about the power
of the Court of Appeals to regulate lawyers, see the
General Revisor's Note to this title.

In subsection (a) of this section, the phrase "on the
form that the Board provides" is standard language
added to conform to the practice of the Board.

10-209. EXAMINATIONS.

(A)  RIGHT TO EXAMINATION.

(1)  AN APPLICANT WHO OTHERWISE QUALIFIES FOR
ADMISSION TO THE BAR IS ENTITLED TO BE EXAMINED AS PROVIDED UNDER
THIS SECTION.

(2)  NOTWITHSTANDING § 10-207(C) OF THIS SUBTITLE, AN
INDIVIDUAL UNDER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS MAY TAKE THE EXAMINATION.

(B)  TIME AND PLACE OF EXAMINATION.
